Face Swap in Zoom and Microsoft Teams Without OBS (Windows 11 Guide)

Zoom and Teams only need a camera. FaceLive Camera is one, so your AI face goes straight into meetings with no OBS scene to build.

The short version

  1. Download FaceLive Camera and run the installer.
  2. Press Start camera, pick a face, press Transform.
  3. In Zoom or Teams, choose FaceLive Camera as your camera.

The rest of this guide is the exact clicks, plus tips for long meetings. For the browser plus OBS route, see the Zoom and Google Meet guide and the Teams and Webex guide.

Zoom

Before a meeting: Zoom → profile picture → Settings → Video → Camera → FaceLive Camera.

During a meeting: click the ^ arrow next to Stop Video / Start Video and pick FaceLive Camera.

Zoom tips:

  • Turn off Touch up my appearance and Adjust for low light; FaceLive already handles the face.
  • Leave Original ratio off; FaceLive sends a 16:9 picture that fills Zoom's tile.
  • Uncheck Mirror my video if text looks backwards to you; others always see it the right way.

Microsoft Teams

Before a meeting: Teams → ⋯ → Settings → Devices → Camera → FaceLive Camera.

On the join screen: click the gear next to the camera toggle and pick FaceLive Camera.

During a meeting: More → Settings → Device settings → Camera.

Teams tips:

  • Turn off background effects. They run on top of FaceLive and can blur edges.
  • If Teams shows a black tile, switch to your real camera and back to FaceLive Camera.

Google Meet

On the join screen, click the camera dropdown under your preview and choose FaceLive Camera. In a meeting: ⋮ → Settings → Video.

Long meetings

  • Press Call Mode in FaceLive to keep it as a small window beside the meeting.
  • Only live seconds use minutes. Press Stop in FaceLive when you're done, so the AI stops.
  • Plug in your laptop. Video calls and live AI together drain batteries fast.

If something goes wrong

“Camera in use” / “Can't start video.” Zoom or Teams is set to your real webcam, which FaceLive is using. Choose FaceLive Camera instead. More: camera in use by another app.

Others see “Open the FaceLive app and press Transform.” The AI isn't running. Press Transform.

Laggy face. Check your upload speed (the internet speed guide) and close big downloads or cloud sync.

Use it fairly

Many workplaces have rules about identity in meetings. Use your own face or one you have permission to use, and be open with people who'd want to know. See the consent rules.
